Princen is a Zambian afro/dancehall singer/songwriter. Growing up deeply immersed in the music of Jk, Macky 2, , and other greats of afropop, dancehall, and Afro-beat. Princen channeled these influences into his own unique style and began releasing original music in 2020, also drawing on the influences of Zambian dancehall music for his earliest singles. In 2021, after a series of lower-profile singles, Princen signed to House music entertainment and released the "Emply EP' with 5 songs. The songs were a minor success but went on to spawn a hit titled history a few months later with vocals by Born-T . The hit helped draw attention to Princen's music, and his catalog grew over the next 1yr, with various singles like Melanin and a slew of guest appearances on songs by other artists, including vocal spots on Born-T's hit "......," Rap danger "One Day," and many others
