I make music as Gyu (I pronounce it Guy-you)
Starting in 2001 with a Roland MC303 Groovebox, I’ve been making beats ever since.
In those days I was heavily into ‘Nu Skool’ Breaks, and spent my time trying to equal the efforts of Freq Nasty and The Plump Djs.
The sound has mellowed since, but I think there’s a thread running though it all – cinematic, atmospheric sounds joined to a firm rhythmic bed.
Now I’m really looking to connect with listeners one to one, and take them along with me on my little musical journeys, taking some time out from the white noise of everyday life....more
