Sophie's main influences are old school artists such as Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, and Etta James who she has idolised from a young age. She grew up in a musical household, so her talent was encouraged from the moment she expressed interest in music. However, Sophie only had the confidence to perform in the shower up until the age of 14. Her school singing teacher (Doug Panton) put her forward for a school music event, and from her debut performance, Sophie knew that becoming a successful artist is her dream.
Sophie is an authentic live performer, and has played at a range of different venue types such as: her debut EP launch at the O2 Islington, Latitude 2019, Borderline and Norwich Arts Centre. Her fan base is steadily growing and this is even recognised by industry professionals, as shown by her win of the Song Academy Young Songwriter Competition 2019. With the likes of Eg White (Adele's Chasing Pavements), Tom Odell, Jin Jin (Jess Glynne), judging the competition. She received a co-sign by Olivia Buckland (Social Media Influencer with over 2 million followers) describing her voice as ‘beautiful’.
