nxube is the stage name of upcoming part-time singer/songwriter Thando Ncube.
nxube’s sound incorporates elements of modern pop music with a focus on acoustic pop and singer/songwriter stylistic devices. Musical and career influences include popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara.
As a Zimbabwean-born (2006) Zambian national living in Botswana, nxube is proudly African (something that can be seen through the stage name alone). nxube was also inspired by the musicians in their family; aunt Sylvia Lopi Munanga and late father (death August 2021), who motivated the artist to take up classical guitar as an extracurricular activity in September 2021. This was pivotal in fostering their appreciation for music creation and equipping them with the necessary musical knowledge to compose the melodies and lyrics to their hit songs.
