Steve Daniels
But, before and after a time I can remember, I've been bass player, guitarist and vocalist with a number of bands including Plusupport, The Support, Three Plus One, The Penguins, The Big Push, Shaken Not Stirred, Undercover, Who Are You and - currently - The Echo.
Born in Bromley, my musical life started at the age of 8 years old with a vocal and tennis racket reel-to-reel recording of Don McLean’s American Pie. I couldn’t play the guitar at the time.
Song writing began in my early twenties with Bromley duo Clarion Call - with my best mate Mark Ferris. We made two demos at the BBC’s Broadcasting House.
Moving to Oxfordshire, my song writing continued in between performances with covers bands.
Developing my own style of folk and pop, my debut album ‘Green Triangle’ came out just before Christmas 2019. A mixture of stories and catchy tunes, ‘Green Triangle’ features local ghost stories (Checkendon’s ‘Green Triangle’ and Ipsden’s ‘Alas, My Brother’); reflections on childhood and parenthood (‘Least Likely To’ and ‘Crossing the Rubicon’); a medieval mystery (‘The Miraculous Beam’); and a celebration of England (‘The English Rain’).
