With roots ranging from folk to Hip-Hop and R&B, Syd B’s soulful and timeless voice unapologetically blurs the line between neo-soul and old-school R&B. Along with piercingly honest lyrics and smooth melodies, the 22-year-old artist proves her vulnerability and strength.
The Los Angeles-born artist has been steadily building up a collection of songs over the last few years, and just recently released her debut EP, Water Me. Over these five tracks, Syd shows different sides of her personality that let the listener in beyond a surface level. "I've been fortunate enough to experience, share, and be vulnerable with some special people, and with this vulnerability I have also put myself in positions where my sense of self has been washed away rather than watered and nourished," says Syd. "These songs explain and allow me to cope with my own ego and the ego of those I surround myself with, power, control, self-worth, and intimacy."
Syd is currently in the studio working on the next chapter in her career to come in 2020.
