Stan Sono was born in Ukraine, where he lived until he was 6 years old before immigrating to the United States. Sono and his family fought anti semitism and left as refugees. Sono had to learn English quickly and acclimate to the American culture. While in high school, Sono began to explore his interests in music: writing, singing, and production. His music is a perfect blend of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Top 40 sound with infectious hooks and stellar production.
Over the years he’s worked with Chicago artists such as G Herbo, KAMI, Vic Mensa, Sterling Hayes, LUCKI, Phor, and Seb Torgus. Sono has also collabed with TGOD’s J.R. Donato, Kris Hollis, THEMXXNLIGHT, Sk8, and Ricky P.
Sono is also one half of another Chicago act, Goodbye Tomorrow which him and preme__xy created in 2014. Pittsburgh producer E. Dan, took notice, he’s best known for his work with Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. E. Dan praised his work with preme__xy and connected him to Taylor Gang’s CEO Will Dzombak, who Sono credits for opening him up to his solo career.
