Mean Motor Scooter

Mean Motor Scooter is a fuzzy, surfy garage-rock band from Fort Worth, Texas. Founded in 2015 by singer and guitarist Sammy Kidd, drummer Jeffrey Friedman and bassist Joe Tacke, the band hit the ground running. Sammy decided on the name after hearing it spoken from a line in the film From Dusk till Dawn. The group recorded and released their self-titled EP the same year. After relentlessly playing Dallas, Fort Worth gigs their 1st year as a band, they recorded and released the Naked Brunch / Such a Seducer singles in April 2016. This was followed by another relentless schedule of local gigs and several new opportunities outside of Texas. By Summer of 2017, Rebekah Elizabeth joined the band on keys and they continued to work on their first full length record. 2017's Hindu Flying Machine was released on 12" vinyl, cassette and digital formats through Dirty Water Records USA. The group also recorded a track titled Mechanical Man to be featured on the Dreamy Life Records "Group Therapy" Vol. 4 compilation, released October 2017. By November, they toured the Mid-West with their fellow labelmates The Darts and Escobar (FR). By the Summer of 2018, the band toured the West Coast with The Darts, The Atom Age and Bee Bee Sea (IT) in support of the album. 2019's TV Baby was released on Dreamy Life Records. In September 2019, Mean Motor Scooter released the Aristobrat single and toured the West Coast once again.
