BISON’S ARTISTE BIO
Bison is an upcoming and talented artiste in the neo-Afropop and Afro-fusion space. Whether he is coming up with melodies on the spot for a freestyle, or fine-tuning the verse of a song to sound just right, you would always find him smiling, and doing his best to spread his positive energy to everyone around him with his sound.

Bison, who goes by the government name Boluwatife Rotimi Maku, is the fifth of five children. Born on the 24th of June 2003, into a family of music inclined people, it was easy for him to pick up music, as he started his music journey in the church choir. He picked his stage name ‘Bison’ from the animal, Bison, and from an acronym that best describes him as a person and as an artiste- ‘Boluwatife In Sense Of Melodious Notes.’ When Bison is not making music, he is spending time with his family, as he is a strong believer in the importance of spending time and building strong bonds with family.
Bison started making music officially in May 2019, and his first single, ‘All Night’ is a song about his dream girl, and an interaction which was cut short, because it was a dream. Bison believes that having a particular ritual before writing music tends to put a strain on the creativity of the artiste. He has no set place or routine when he makes music, and he is inspired by his everyday experiences as a Nigerian youth trying to navigate life while maintaining his relationship with his family and the people around him....more
