Marco Reggianini, from Modena (Italy), discovers electronic dance music in the first half of the 2000s, immediately falling in love with Drum and Bass. Attending DNB parties around Italy, grows in him the desire to express his personality through DJing and production, under the name Moon. In the period 2006-2009 plays in many gigs around Italy, opening also some major international guests, and has his first track released, "Supercell", on Maztek's label Subculture Music.
In 2010 Moon becomes Akrom, too many producers and DJs around with the name of our earth's satellite, a different name was necessary to stand out. The next years are spent improving his production skills, and finally in 2014 comes the first international recognition, when his track "Egotopia" ranks 4th in the BHK Samples/Neurofunk Grid contest, only behind strong producers such as Steelan, Killer Industries and Khronos.
2015 is a breakthrough year: the track "The Circus" is showcased on Xilent and Wreckage Machinery's The Neurosphere Show 018 and also uploaded on Neurofunk Grid Youtube Channel as new talent; later on in the second half of the year his first release “Deep Green Remix/Quake City” is published on BNC Expess and new tracks still as dubplates begin to receive support by major dnb artists, including Mind Vortex, Optiv, BTK, Chris.SU, June Miller, just to name a few.
Spring of 2016 sees the his debut release on Optiv’s Red Light Records. The “Invictus EP” hits hard the Drum and Bass world, reaching the Top20 on Beatport with the title track, and getting worldwide support. Its tracks are played in the top world podcasts, such as Dutty Audio Podcast, Eatbrain Podcast, Blackout Podcast, and uploaded on famous youtube channel Blackout and Neurofunkgrid. Follow then the single “Overlord/Esothron” on the mighty Druid Record, receiving as well a lot of support and getting featured as well on Neurofunkgrid.
In 2017 it’s time for Akrom to land on the legendary Cause4Concern Recordings with a heavy remix of their classic “World Unknown”, to return on Red Light Records with a single, “Undermined/Lifecycle”-in collaboration with Disphonia and Impak, and to debut on the prestigious Austrian label Mainframe Recordings with “Cosmic Creation”, a collaboration with Myselor. These big releases consolidate his international reputation and project him definitively towards the elite of the Drum and Bass universe.
With severeal tracks forthcoming next months we’re sure you'll keep hearing more and more about Akrom in the future!
