Kayo Man is a Miami-based hip-hop artist whose birth name is Kyle Washington. Raised in Seminola Florida, Kayo Man was born on October 7, 1996. He is a promising artist who has known that music was his calling since the tender age of nine.
It began in elementary school when Kayo Man won a countywide award for creative writing, which later motivated him to tap into his unique voice and begin writing lyrics. Seemingly from that early experience, Kayo Man was created. Fast forward today, he’s written for, collaborated with or been featured with a slew of artists . Although Kayo Man is still in the early stages of his career, he’s already seen the big stage. He’s performed his music in a number of venues across the country.
Passionate and determined, Kayo Man believes that the music industry needs “fewer people trying to ‘ride the waves’ and more people just being themselves.” He cautions that, “You don’t need to listen to all the trends or worry about what the next person is doing. That’s not what music is about. Music is about creating a vibe, whatever your vibe may be.”
Kayo Man is tireless when it comes to pursuing his passion for music and creativity. Skilled in hip hop, rap, RnB and soul, Kayo Man’s influences date back to some older school hip hop like “Tupac Shakur” and “The Fugees”, as well as some present day artists creating music with a similar vibe, such as J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
