Okube John Walter was born in 1985 in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria, into a family of six as the second of four children. With roots in Benin, Edo State, he was raised with a rich cultural heritage that would go on to shape his creative journey. In April 1997, he discovered his voice and began honing his musical talents through rigorous practice and involvement with a local choir. This was the start of his path as an artist, leading him to his first professional recording, Paloma, in 2006, which marked a significant milestone in his musical career.
Balancing his passion for music with his academic ambitions, Okube earned a degree from the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State. His pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there; he furthered his education with a Master’s degree from Northumbria University in London, Great Britain.
