Boasting releases on his own label Stereoptico, as well as UK imprints like Fine Grains, Crackling Claps and Merci Jitter. Jorge Read is an experienced beatmaker specializing in hip-hop, electronica and his own flavour of Caribbean bass music. A Red Bull Music Academy participant in the London 2010 edition, he’s had a fair share of collaborative experiences with artists from all over the world.
Currently focusing on his side projects, such as being the driving force behind Dominican folk rap/hip-hop project Whitest Taino Alive, as well as his recent releases with prolific Dominican rapper AcentOh, Cohoba was selected to participate in the Bacardi x Major Lazer project “Music Liberates Music”. Next up is minitapes1, the first of a series where the producer will be exploring work closer to back in the day when he was jamming out beats in his bedroom for the fun of it....more
