Oba Lurge is a Nigerian songwriter and filmmaker from Lagos. He is widely regarded as one of the most versatile artistes of the new generation. His sound is optimistic, inspirational and a perfect mix of Hiphop, Afrobeats and Dancehall.
Started off writing articles, poems and debates in primary school, his first encounter with recording music was with in 2011. He developed his career further making covers and working on any instrumentals he could lay his hands on with record producer St Kay. He has 4 EPs to his credit. He signed a one year distribution deal with Universal Music Nigeria in 2021 but left to handle business independently in 2022.
He has a B.sc in computer science and recently obtained a diploma in Sound Recording & Design for Film & Tv, from Mo Abudu's Ebonylife Creative Academy, he had his song featuring placed in the short film After Party and was the Boom Operator & Foley Artist on The Last Operation, he won an award for the best Location sound with the later. He's currently working on his debut album 'Nigerian Gangster' a project that has a feature from the Legendary Duncan Mighty....more
