Symbiosis make beautiful music to calm the mind and soothe the spirit. Many of their albums were created specially for relaxation and healing, and 'Touching the Clouds' and 'Amber & Jade' have been particularly successful as an accompaniment to massage, reflexology, yoga and aromatherapy. Their music is now widely used in holistic therapy, hospitals, schools, and stress management. Research has proved its ability to lower the heartbeat rate and hence reduce stress.
The group includes renowned flautist John Hackett; jazz and folk guitarist Richard Bolton; and founder-member Clive Williamson on keyboards, whose years of experience as a Sound Designer at the BBC help to give Symbiosis its unique flavour.
Clive also recorded their first pure sound effects album: AOTEAROA – Nature Sounds of New Zealand. These wonderfully relaxing recordings capture the true beauty of the nature and landscape of New Zealand – the 'Land of the Long White Cloud'. Featuring the calls of Bellbird and Tui, gently calming early morning forest and bush atmospheres, the ebb and flow of the Pacific ocean, distant rolling thunder, and the sounds of hot springs, glowworm caves and boiling mud pools, you'll enjoy relaxing to these 'postcards in sound' from a remarkable natural haven! (Extended and remastered as 'New Zealand Naturally', 2018)
