Darren James

Darren James is a rapper hailing from Pacoima, CA. Although Darren has been rapping since a child, taking part in cyphers and rap battles in the school playground, he had ambitions of being an athlete. He had placement offers from multiple top universities, however, as is true for many young people today who grow up in a broken home from a poor area, the street life took over. The streets would then change his focus from being an athlete to writing and recording his own music.
Darren has already had enormous success within the rap industry, he has been on a country wide tour with The Game for the release of his 1992 album, also contributing to the creative process. He was able to hand pick some beats from super producer Scott Storch’s personal computer and record a couple of songs. He has also recorded tracks with Ray J and Dizzy Wright with Dizzy featuring on his most recent album ‘Dreams Don’t Die People Do’ on the song ‘Roll My Blunt’.
Darren now works 100% independently and has founded his own music label ‘Thanks For Nothing Entertainment’, also designing the Labels website and merch. Darren has come a long way in just a few years and shows no signs of stopping, with a natural talent in rapping with his melodic west coast sound and the work ethic of a true professional, Darren James will become a name that is synonymous with Hip-Hop.
