Monica is a flutist, composer and teaching artist living in the Bay Area. Her last album ‘Journey of Tears’ was released on heart dance records, fall of 2018. It receive the silver medal for the Global Music Awards and the Peace Song Awards -Peoples Choice (most engagements). The album reached the number five position on the Zone Reporter music charts, and stayed in the top 10 for two months.
Monica was the flutist for phoenix rising, a flute and piano duo that released for successful albums ‘Whispers’, ‘Ascension’, Mystic Places’, and ‘In My Dreams Again’.
Monica graduated Eastman School of Music and shortly after she fell in love with various world and hybrid flutes. To her, the combinations of sounds and textures help create soundscapes that calm the listener while also renewing energy. Monica believes that music is about expression and communication and has the power to heal.
