Brazilian-born, Dublin-based electronica DJ and producer, Jean Castro, a.k.a. Artdate
With an open mind and fierce curiosity for anything and everything electronic music-based, he has spent the past 4 years soaking up a multitude of genres and styles ranging from techno, breaks, house, tech-house and minimal tech.
Today, Artdate focuses on pushing an infectious fusion of synth-laden House and Minimal Tech. With recent influences such as Solardo, LSG, Hot Since 82, Camelphat, Cuartero and Max Chapman, you’ll be hard-pressed to argue for a lack of diversity within his sets, which comprise of both his own productions and others. His tracks go from the deeper end of minimal and breaks through to the tougher grooves of house and techno.
Not one to pigeonhole himself into one style, Artdate traverses the BPMs and moods and focuses on telling a story through progression with his DJ sets. A typical hour-set would see him build from laid-back ambient sounds, to proper “hands-in-the-air” House and everything in between.
