Sahana Bajpaie

Sahana, an Independent musician from India, was awarded at the UK Parliament, "The Bengal's Pride Award", 2018, for her contribution to Arts and Culture. She was brought up and trained in Rabindrasangeet, Hindustani Classical Music, and, Bengali Folk Music in Santiniketan, India. She now travels the world singing and collaborating with musicians from different countries. She has published five critically acclaimed studio albums, and several singles independently and (mostly) chases after her little daughter. She has performed at prestigious venues like the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, University of Cambridge, SOAS University of London, The London School of Economics in the United Kingdom, various cities in the US and Europe- the Grassi Museum Leipzig, Germany, Sosnowiec Music School, Poland, the River Festival, Padova, Italy, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Zurich, Paris, Stuttgart, Bonn, to name a few. She had spent quite a few years teaching English Literature in Brac University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and is now based in London. She teaches Bengali Language and Literature at SOAS, University of London of which she is an alumna of in South Asian Studies. She is now a PhD Scholar in Ethnomusicology at the Department of Music, King's College London, University of London. If she had her life to live again, she would not change much.
