Declan James

In the rapidly evolving world of electronic music, few names are as committed to innovation as Scottish-American producer & DJ Declan James.

Declan began producing in his bedroom at the age of 15, where he quickly found a unique talent and passion for making Progressive Trance music. By the age of 16, he was releasing music on some of the biggest labels in the Progressive world, his early records being praised for their originality & seeing support from A-List names spanning across the dance music spectrum including Armin Van Buuren, Porter Robinson, & Above and Beyond. In the following two years he would release an abundance of increasingly experimental material, ranging from the slowed down, pop-laced “Who I Am” with Notaker, to the high energy, 90s influenced “Weapon” with Fatum.

At the end of 2018, Declan announced that he would be moving forward with his own brand of music called “Surrealist Techno”, combining elements of Ambient and Old-Skool rave music with the sensibilities of peak hour Techno in an imaginative way. This too would rapidly gain traction, garnering him attention and acclaim from heavy hitters in the Techno world, and even an invite to open the Drumcode stage at EDC Las Vegas in 2019. Now, on the cusp of a new & exciting musical era, Declan remains focused on creating forward-thinking material that will pave the way for him as a trendsetter in the dance music world for years to come.
