PRINCESS DAMARIS MAKONOR (Born April 11, 2000), professionally known as Mahriisah, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter.
Born into a musical family in Lagos, Nigeria, she began composing music at a young age, influenced by artists such as Adele. She would perform Adele songs for her family and eventually join the church choir.
In 2020, Mahriisah decided to chase her dreams as a singer, and immediately started releasing covers/freestyles on Instagram. Her videos garnered over 200,000 impressions and a respectable following.
Mahriisah’s early music was recorded with friends using free beats from YouTube; however, those tracks have yet to be released. Mahriisah’s music has been defined as alternative R&B with elements of Afro Pop, Highlife, Minimalist R&B, and Reggae.
