AKAI is a Nigerian-American artist who was born in the United States to parents whose family are from Anambra State, Nigeria and Frankfurt, Germany. Since he was a child; he always loved afrobeats and amapiano, and he decided to get into the music scene himself because there were wasn’t any representation of those who dealt with diaspora. In June 2023, AKAI dropped his debut single, "NAIJA Boy." The song showcased his love for his people and how everyone should be happy about who they are, no matter where they came from.
