OCHÉ is a rapper/singer from Toronto. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, his interest in music began at an early age. From going to the studio with his cousins during summer breaks, to attending their release parties and watching them perform. He gained an appreciation and understanding of music.
Growing up, he listened to songs recorded by Fela Kuti, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, 2Pac Shakur, P Diddy, Notorious B.I.G, and D’banj. Moving back and forth between London and Nigeria, he was also introduced to early grime music listening to the likes of Kano, Lethal Bizzle and Wiley. Slowly his love and interest in music grew. He began songwriting and producing at age 13 with two of his best friends, and they later formed a rap group called LGM (Last Good Music). The following year they released their first single and disbanded after that.
In November 2017, OCHÉ released his debut single, Wasteman. The song has since been featured on the likes of Hip-Hop Canada and Apple Music’s ‘New Toronto Playlist’, as well as amassing tens of thousands of plays across all of his channels.
OCHÉ released his debut mixtape, The Memo, on August 3rd, 2018. The project featured production from long-time friend and producer Shirax and engineered by Dylan King. He is since gained thousands of fans from around the world with his unique sound and style. Earlier this year, he released BAD ONE, and in 2 months the song has gained over 14,000 streams across all platforms....more
