Born Stephanie Mitchell in Norfolk, Virginia now hailing from the Tar Heel state of North Carolina whose grind within the independent sector of the music industry dates back to the early 2000s. A multifaceted entertainer, Stephanie performs under the stage name Carmen Diego, a pseudonym she adopted from globetrotting cartoon character Carmen San Diego. Presently working on her debut album as yet untitled, Carmen is enjoying the momentum created by her recent release an ep titled 2 Up 2 Down; an homage to her birthplace, 2 Up 2 Down in context aims at painting a picture of the reality of life in her hometown (Norfolk.). Lead by the up-tempo single, "Trap Phone" the project is highlighted by a multitude of sounds wide in range. Another stand out track is the R&B themed "Different."
