Growing up in the heart of West Germany, where her Ghanaian parents fought their way through the struggles of the culture clash, ANNY grew up with influences of RnB, hip-hop, raggae and Ghanaian highlife gospel, but also German rap and pop music. She was drawn to choirs at an early age, wrote her first song at the age of 15 and the 23-year-old began experimenting with the German language on the increasingly popular Afrobeats. Today she knows exactly what she wants: to commercialize afro sounds in Germany and bring the genres to domestic stages in the name of the German language.
