Dominic Frimpong, professionally known as Original Domino, began his musical journey singing in Sunday school and to his primary classmates. The Ahafo rapper wasn’t initially known for rapping outside of church and the classroom. In 2018, after three quiet years in high school, he released his first studio-recorded demo, “Odo Nwom,” featuring a schoolmate. Though his releases were sporadic, he found success with "Undefeated" in 2020, which won him the Rapper of the Year title at the Ahafo Ultimate Awards.
In 2021, Original Domino dropped “Straight from Ahafo,” a track that expanded his recognition beyond regional borders and solidified his self-proclaimed title, "The Boy From Ahafo." The following year, in July 2022, he hosted the maiden edition of Mandem and Friends, attracting over 1,000 spectators—a remarkable feat for an emerging independent artist.
Original Domino continued to rise with the release of his debut studio EP, “It Will Be Different,” in April 2024.
