Launching themselves on to the alternative pop/rock scene in 2020 are Leeds-based 3-piece band, Before Me. The boys, who are best mates, have been making music since they formed their first band in 2013. They cut their teeth writing songs and selling-out local headline shows before realising they had something special; moving en-masse from Gloucestershire up to Leeds to study music. After spending their first year crafting their sound, identity and perfecting a stunning live show, now aged 20, they are ready to announce their entirely self-produced, debut EP ‘Do You Feel’ – featuring the new single, ‘Can’t Sleep’.
‘Do You Feel’ juxtaposes high energy, live band elements with atmospheric, delicate electronic textures to create a unique sound as exciting as it is original. Lyrically, the record explores stories deeply personal to the band yet universally relatable, depicting the complex nature of relationships in adolescence and the hardships they can cause.
The first single from the EP, 'Can’t Sleep' is a soaring ballad which evokes a sense of catharsis. Lyrically transparent, the song leaves nowhere to hide, emanating a powerful sense of honesty - a value which the boys hold dear both as a collective and as individuals.
With creative control of all elements: writing, recording and producing – combined with an ethereal visual aesthetic, Before Me are set to take the Northern alt pop/rock scene by storm.
