Pianist, composer and producer Greg Spero is emerging from the Chicago scene, garnering acclaim for his long-standing collaborations with Makaya McCraven, Marquis Hill, and other Chicago staples. Heralded by the iconic Quincy Jones as "an absolutely beautiful human being and artist who knows how to play from his soul," Spero is the engine behind the rhythmically-charged, groove-oriented and genre-bending SPIRIT FINGERS. The quartet features French bassist Hadrien Feraud, Dallas drum prodigy drummer Mike Mitchell and Italian guitarist Dario Chiazzolino. Their Shanachie Entertainment debut which was co-produced by Makaya McCraven, was released on March 16, 2018, debuting at #20 on the jazz billboard charts and #11 on iTunes jazz. Mentored by the legendary Herbie Hancock, Spero was the long-time pianist for pop singer/songwriter Halsey with whom he appeared on such national TV shows with as "Saturday Night Live" and "Ellen."
