Hailing from Soroti, eastern Uganda, Blessed is undoubtedly one of the most explosive MCs working in East Africa today. Best known as a champion freestyler in Kampala’s underground reggae-hiphop scene, Blessed shows an unerring ability to nail any beat a DJ can throw at him. With enormous stage presence, a command of 5 languages, infinite lyrics and styles ranging from hiphop, dancehall, roots, spoken word and even opera, Blessed is a one-man powerhouse who has to be heard to be believed.
After 10 years of hammering out the live circuit across Uganda, Kenya and Sudan, Blessed has recently been getting busy in the studio with a host of different producers from all over the world. His notable works include: the Kampala anthem CONTROL produced by Norwegian hiphop/EDM maestro Fredrik Borch Olsen; sessions with Mungo’s HiFi (UK), including the mighty TRAITOR with producer Stalawa; hit track NYINGI NGAI with esteemed German producer Razoof, which featured on Reggaeville (DE); MASH DOWN BABYLON with Germany's Ancient Astronauts; a full album ANIMAL FARM with Kool London’s DJ Moocha (release July 2020); and sessions with BBC 1Xtra’s DJ Skitz and DJ Vadim (release 2020/21)
