Tillie Gya

Kwame Amankwa Prah known professionally by his stage name Tillie Gya is a Recording Artist/Producer born in Ghana Accra. He got the the name Tillie from his school father in Ghana National College and Gya( An Akan language meaning Fire) as a result of the energy he carries in his vocal delivery.Growing up in Accra - Ghana with influence from Reggae Dancehall,Highlife and Hip Hop music, it's no wonder Tillie Gya grew up to become the unique and versatile artist that he is today. His father G.A Prah of Gapophone records played a key role in the Highlife music genre. Music is Family and one could tell from a young age that he is going to be a great musician. His music career officially began in Ghana after emerging as the winner of a talent show(Appietus Idolz). He went on to work with some of the big names in Ghana music, Castro,Scientific,Appietus etc He moved to Netherlands shortly after his deal with creative records. The artist's undeniable deep,crystal , smooth vocal and depth of lyrics will keep you listening to his songs over and over again. A Reggae dancehall artist with roots in Afro music ( Highlife music, Afro beats, Hiplife ,Afro pop) combining the Afro reggae dancehall musical elements in what he calls Afro - Dancehall.
