After leaving her legal career behind, Istanbul (Turkey) based singer/songwriter Mavi released her inaugural EP “30” in 2011, closely followed by “Kaptan” and “Aç Kapıyı” (2012). In 2014, she released her first album "Şimdi", which included the hits "Yakışmaz Bana" and "Bir Kış Masalı".
Mavi’s music is a cross-over between Turkish Pop and Alternative World Music, based on an acoustic sound base and powerful lyrics. Following her concerts in Turkey and Cyprus, she has built a solid fan base, not only in Turkey but also in Greece and the Middle East.
Mavi’s latest project, named “Saz Söz Mavi”, involves releasing a new song online every month, before finally releasing the complete album in March 2018 – an approach Mavi is spearheading in Turkey. With each song, Mavi is also releasing a black & white music video featuring hidden nostalgic corners of Istanbul and thus bringing both visual and musical pleasure to her fans....more
