Nicola Pomponi, aka Setak, is a guitarist and songwriter from Abruzzo, Italy. His stage name is a tribute to his family nickname “lu setacciar” - referring to the family buisiness of handcrafting sieves.
His first solo album, “Blusanza”, was published in 2019. It is a contemporary folk-rock album sang entirely in his native dialect, which was a finalist at the “Premio Tenco” and “Andrea Parodi” awards.
“This album comes from my need to bring together my musical and personal experiences” Setak says, “the relationship with the village where I was born, with the dialect I speak with my friends, with all the music I’ve listened to over the years.
The result, I think, is a combination of blues and various sounds from the South of the world. These sounds and my native dialect give me the perfect framework for sharing my memories and my need for intimacy....more
