Award-winning British born composer, songwriter, producer, pianist and educator, Alise Ashby creates orchestral, jazz & ambient instrumentals, as well as “harmonically intelligent and infectious pop songs, ballads, and tender warm heart-centered love songs”. David Clark - Berklee College of Music Bass Professor & performing bassist.
Nicknamed by some as a melody master, Alise’s talent began to emerge in early childhood as she spent countless hours at the piano creating instrumentals and songs. “I grew up surrounded by the timeless sounds of The Beatles, Sir Elton John, Simon & Garfunkel, Pink Floyd, & Queen, John Barry, to name a few, who became my idols….as well as the classical composers, Mahler and Lizst, all of which resounded within the walls of my home.”
At aged 16, Alise was commissioned to write her first independent film score, presented at The Cannes Film Festival. Whilst living in New York in her twenties, she wrote for several commercials.
Alise studied orchestration at the Guildhall School of Music in London and privately with a Juilliard Professor in New York.
