O'Nel Mala or Guehi Glai Léon in civil status, born on November 11 , 1972in Koulinlé , in the Sub-prefecture of Logoualé , in Côte d'Ivoire , is an Ivorian composer, percussionist and singer specializing in the field of Christian music. In 2008, he obtained the Tiercé d'or for Ivorian music.

Born in a religious environment, O'Nel Mala took his first steps as a singer with his mother, herself a traditional singer in the Protestant churches of the mountainous western region of Côte d'Ivoire .He emigrated to Abidjan in 1990 with a view to embarking on religious music . and, very early on, was considered a rising star of Ivorian gospel . In 1997, with an orchestra of circumstance and in front of a jury of music professionals, chaired by Valen Guédé, in his capacity as President of the Ivorian Copyright Office (BURIDA), O'Nel Mala won the orchestra competition "Cocody Rock Stars" , at the time, annually organized by the City of Cocody .
Crowned with this prize, he was appointed in 1999 to perform the Ivorian national anthem at a concert organized on the occasion of the country's Independence Day . The following year, he produced his first album, but it did not achieve the expected success
