Bongi Mvuyana is a South African singer, songwriter and performer who fuses soul, jazz and folk music to deliver a fresh, alternative soul sound to the discerning music lover. Her debut single, “I Wonder” introduced her sound to the African music scene in 2014 and went on to chart on Metro FM’s Top 30 Countdown and on four Nigerian radio stations.
This was followed by more releases; an emotive ballad, “Gold” which charted on Vuma FM, Maskandi- influenced “Sweet Love” that playlisted on radio stations across Africa, and "Sizwile" which was remixed by renowned producer, Da Capo, and played in sets by the likes of Black Coffee & Louie Vega.
In 2019, Bongi Mvuyana featured as singer and songwriter on acclaimed international DJ and producer, Ralf GUM's single, "Used To Be". "Used To Be" has received favourable reviews from house music greats, DJ Christos and Vinny Da Vinci, as well as veteran house vocalist, Monique Bingham, naming it her song for 2019, and citing Bongi Mvuyana as "one of the most original singers I've heard in ages", in her interview with Big Shot Magazine in January 2020.
