Ray Rockman

I’ve known I wanted to be a rapper since I was 10 years old. Even as a child my family used to say they would have another musician in the family. Before I even started rapping, I wanted to be like Eminem and Mac miller. I started writing songs when I was 14 without any beat or any way to record them. Then in my freshman year of high school I met Trilla Kid and after school we would freestyle over free youtube beats. One day I was telling a friend on the bus ride home that I wanted to make an album. It just so happened that two seats away from me my now full-time producer Moons overheard that conversation and asked me to record at his studio. Trilla Kid and I started recording at that studio often and started dropping songs on soundcloud. My debut mixtape “ omg ray rockman” which had the track “Poseidon” gave me my first taste of how a song could blow up on soundcloud. Following that mixtape I posted “ Good Always Wins” with another song that people liked “ Depressed But I’m Lit (feat. Trilla Kid)”. After some time I started to have mental problems. I had been suffering from OCD since 9th grade but after my senior year of highschool it started to come back more severely. After taking an edible I suffered from psychosis which lead to a spiral of unfortunate events. I isolated myself from everyone, I dropped out of college, and I decided I was going to quit music. But then everything changed for the better. Life is good again.
