Laza Morgan is a Jamaican American singer, rapper, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur.
Known for his signature mixture of Hip-Hop, Roots Reggae and Dancehall, Morgan has drawn inspiration from artists such as Rakim, KRS ONE, Buju Banton and Sizzla. Growing up Laza was exposed to the music business by his family and credits his creativity, versatility, and growth to his father, Reggae Icon Denroy Morgan, and Grammy Award Winning Siblings, Morgan Heritage.
Prior to embarking on his journey as a solo-artist Laza enjoyed success as a member of “LMS.” The group made up of Laza and his two siblings, Miriam and Shy-poo Morgan, released four studio albums (Reality Check, Zion Gates, Straight From Da Root, London 2 Paris) and toured extensively with Morgan Heritage.
As a solo artist Laza has continued to carry on the family tradition of producing barrier busting music. After signing with Elektra records Laza was featured on British pop sensation Alexandra Burke's hit single "Start Without You" which topped the UK and European singles charts. He was also featured on Flo Rida's hit single '21' from the album "The Only One." Followed by, "This Girl" which was featured in Disney’s feature film Step Up 3D and its smash soundtrack. Culminating with "One by One," a tantalizing love song featuring "The Gully Gad" Mavado which set dance floors and radio airwaves ablaze....more
