Biography
More popularly known as Mr. Smooth, Omar Brown grew up in Jamaica’s quiet town of Albany, St. Mary. He later moved to Kingston where his interest in music was sparked. It was during this time he moved back to St. Mary where he was first given a microphone, by his childhood friend Jimmy, to sing on a sound called Super Force. Hence a musical star was born!
Omar has been in the music industry as a professional since 2002 and joined the group X-ale.
X-ale is notorious for their songs titled “Put It on Sweet”, “Your Girl A Call Me”, “Read Between the Lines” and many more hits. Throughout his journey with X-ale Omar performed on many stages including Heineken Startime, Reggae Sumfest, Sting, Beenie Man Summer Sizzle and others.
Constantly captivating the reggae, dancehall audience for years, Omar continues to build his musical profession for a robust musical journey. With his unique, smooth vocals he continues to compose his own music and aims to broaden his musical ambitions.
In the building of Omar’s musical profession, his greatest influences are Devonte from the duo Tanto Metro & Devonte, Wayne Wonder, Tevin Campbell, Boys II Men, Az Yet. These artists play an integral role in the development of Omar’s musical profession, lyrically, instrumentally, and personally.
