Vince Palmeri
On his debut album “VP”, he dips into a variety of assorted styles and genres including pop/rock, funk/disco, trap, R&B, reggae, EDM, with even a few acoustic songs. Lyric-wise, the album features many songs about love, falling in and out of relationships, as well as moments of more introspective analysis and admittance of his own shortcomings. “I can be self-destructive, unproductive” he sings on the moody trap-influenced "Proceed With Caution". When writing about a topic or theme, he always aims for the most honest and authentic lyrics. While huge pop bangers with over-the-top vocals are where he excels ("The Rush", "My One"), there’s still a fresh variety of songs here. Club tracks like "Lighting and Thunder" and "Give Me More", are adrenaline packed EDM-lite dance songs that are sure to spice up any pregame party. "Waiting Here for You", the middle track of the album, is Vince throwing a stylistic curve ball. As a guitar player, he felt it was important to include a purely stripped down acoustic song on the album, as showing versatility as an artist is something that he will always strive toward. "Waiting Here for You" also features him at his most vulnerable and honest, outlining a relationship that he so desperately wants to fully commit to. Lyrically and sonically, “VP” is a roller coaster ride that’ll keep you engaged and interested from start to finish....more
