DXWAVE is a versatile artist active as a DJ, producer, and musician based in South Korea. The name combines the abbreviation for Digital Transformation (DX) with “WAV,” a reference to audio files often used in loops or sampling, and the word “wave.”

This name reflects the philosophy that “music connects the past and the present.” All of DXWAVE’s music is crafted through sampling and looping, blending tradition with innovation.

DXWAVE, who seamlessly integrates music with engineering visuals, has an extensive background as a guitarist in musicals and a session guitarist for studio recordings. Since 2020, DXWAVE has been active as a DJ and producer, employing a sampling-based composition method that adjusts and dissects tempo and pitch. His work spans genres such as Electronic, Synthwave, Funky House, Synthpop, Retro Funk, Lofi, Jazzhop, and Nu Disco, creating a fusion of danceable beats and captivating visual aesthetics.

DXWAVE (born April 25, 1980) grew up in Korea, deeply influenced by the retro sounds of 80s and 90s American music. He began his musical journey in elementary school by learning guitar, drawing inspiration from legendary guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Larry Carlton, and Jeff Beck. While he initially aspired to become a guitarist, his passion shifted toward sampling and electronic music production after being inspired by house music pioneers such as Daft Punk, Avicii, and Martin Garrix. This evolution led him to become a composer, producer, and DJ, creating and arranging music across genres like house, electro-pop, synthwave, and lo-fi.

DXWAVE’s discography includes notable tracks such as “Love You Baby,” “Dance,” “Bad Romance,” “I Can’t Get Over,” and “Free Falling.”
