Pampa

Originally the band was to be called Mannahatta (land of many hills), the word used by the Lenni Lenape to describe Manhattan before the European invasion, or Sigue la Sombra de mi Bebe, which is a verse in a song by Charly Garcia (Promesas sobre el Bidet) but the former is a bit fake, because despite having lived two years in NYC, Moon Baillie is not a new yorker, and the second a bit complicated for Americans. Impossible to pronounce, let alone understand. Pampa (Lowland without tree vegetation) as Mannahatta, is an Native word (Quechua) describing the wilderness.
Pampa started in the mind of Moon Baillie around 2013, after spending 3 months in Argentina, something he had not done since 1996. Swimming in questions like" where to fit in this northwestern society, and, if there is a place, where is it?" he did what he does; write songs about life. These songs document times. I mean, they have structures, formulas, esoteric reasonings, but they capture a mood in its inception. Moon Baillie was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He now is a documented American. In his path he writes a story. Those stories are the fabric of his culture, and PAMPA is a journey that describes his modern American experience.
