"The Assassination of Peter Gynt" speaks of the danger and ease with which most artistic identities develop, consolidate, and perpetuate due to the pressure exerted by a sometimes invisible but ever-present Art System. Peter Gynt is the alter ego of the Sabadell artist Pere Martí Farré, who, through the constant practice of bringing this character from the stage context to his personal field, has suffered certain personality crises. Considering and rethinking why he decided, at a certain moment, to give his own entity to his creative facet, he has come to the conclusion of staging his death from a monologue. At the same time, he has generated —accompanied by film student Valèria N. Saurí— a documentary that collects the whole process of construction, crisis and deconstruction of what one day came to symbolize this eccentric and iconic figure that almost ends with his original identity....more
