Reyer

As a worship leader, producer, arranger and dj, Reyer redefines the term ‘versatile’. In recent years the Dutchman has seen a steady increase in public awareness and above all, use of his songs. No doubt it is helpful that he is a member of the BEAM Worship Band (leading worship during the Dutch EO Youth Day stadium events) as well as the ‘Opwekking’ band, leading during the big conferences at Pentacost. Reyer is a worship leader with a strong focus on Gods unique love and perspective for mankind; his songs a good fit with the known modern worship staples from worship leaders like Chris Tomlin and Martin Smith. His debut album ‘Eeuwig Licht’ (‘Eternal Light’) received a Zilveren Duif Award (the Dutch equivalent of a Dove Award), featuring the breakout song ‘I See The Cross’. Through his involvement with a Dutch language album by Paul Baloche, Reyer re-recorded the song with him on his follow up album ‘Resound’.

For Reyer, many things converge on the new live album ‘Hoop in Mij’ (‘Hope In Me’). It was a conscious choice to have it feature solely Dutch songs to serve the church. “I got a lot of feedback from people who made it clear that this was a specific need” says Reyer. “These songs were written from a position of vulnerability that I think many will recognize. It is something I am happy to share with the world: real hope.”
