KayMatters comes from humble beginnings. Coming from a Jamaican heritage and raised in Streatham, South London, UK, he started rapping from the age of 16.
KayMatters has been heavily influenced by the US and UK scene with the likes of Nas, Jadakiss, 50 Cent, Kano, Wretch 32 and Ghetts. He has dropped multiple projects on websites like Hoodtapes.co.uk, DatPiff as well as all digital outlets. He has also appeared on music platform giants i.e. LinkUp TV and GRM Daily. Throughout the years, there has been consistent progression in his lyrical ability. His more recent projects have demonstrated the ability to create a perfect blend of street, thought-provoking rap and harmony.
With his debut album 'I Got the Memo' being released independently, he has adapted his skill set but still perpetuates a raw, nostalgic, fresh and compelling sound.
