The new album is a refreshing and very real exploration of finding a balance between living amidst two cultures and identities, as a spiritual individual growing up in the West.
As always, Waqas goes against the grain, where autobiographical anecdotes are intertwined within the lyrics, relatable stories and scenarios to many, which is what makes the album so real. As Waqas explains, ‘It’s a long title I know. The foot in the sink represents deen and culture for me, during the act of doing Wudu - for a non-Muslim it probably looks strange and funny to see someone do this. The foot on a banana peel represents dunya, the world which is slippery, so it’s a life-long battle to keep striking a perfect pose and maintaining a balance between the two.’
