
Uplifter Island Music
They did acoustic jam sessions after their wakeboard rides and then decided to formally form the band that expanded to include bassist Mark Joseph Buñag and guitarist Kaloy Payuran which came up with the name for the band after the popular album of the band 311. Keyboardist Joshua Manzo and saxophonist Benj Cueto came into the group adding more layers of sound to the band.
Payuran and Manzo left the band. Trumpeter Rolando Ordanza, trombonist Bunjoy Garcia and guitarist Benjo Logmao were later added to complete the band’s final line-up. Bringing in elements of reggae, jazz and rock together, the band is promoting their own brand of reggae music to the local music scene. Ylagan and Clutario, as chief song writers, pens the band’s songs in Tagalog and in English while the rest of the members contribute in the song’s final arrangement.
“Halika sa Oriental Mindoro”, an original song of the band won Best Composition during the province’s Pandangitab Festival, Battle of the Bands held in 2018.
Despite the hardships, the band has their sights firmly on making it successfully in the music industry....more
