Born Hanani Christian Joy Taylor, Hana Ni hails from Columbus, Ohio. Hana Ni began publicly performing, singing and acting at age 3. She won her first major singing and acting competitions in Texas when she was 8 years old. At 10, she was the opening act for legendary gospel artist, Yolanda Adams.
At the age of 9, Hana Ni was featured and nationally televised on "Showtime at The Apollo" as a "Kid Star of Tomorrow" and on the “Best of The Apollo.”
At 15, Hana Ni was a contestant on American Idol. She made it to the top 60 contestants out of 125,000 people who auditioned across the country.
In 2013, Hana Ni’s video “Too Much Faith” appeared as the “Video Pick of the Day” on BET’s 106 & Park. That year, she also recorded a Holiday duet for the Grammy Foundation’s Christmas Card which was sent out to over 20,000 Grammy Foundation members. She was crowned Miss T.E.E.N. Ohio 2013.
Hana Ni was invited to perform at the BET Awards Experience Live LA 2014 and recognized as an “up and coming” artist.
At 18, she moved to Los Angeles. She recently had a guest star role on CBS’s Criminal Minds, a lead in the upcoming feature film "Unabridged", a recurring role on the Verizon series "Mr. Student Body President", a guest star role on Fox’s “The Orville” and a guest star role on ABC’s “Speechless”. Recently, Hana Ni performed as the opening act for R&B star, Ginuwine, Mila J. Her full length album debuted in early 2018.
