Statuz_Quo

Statuz_Quo speaks humbly, of a life in the projects of Rexdale. The Oldest of two children and raised by a single mom, who worked two jobs. Statuz_Quo first discovered music through becoming and working as a disc-jockey, he recalls carrying speakers for many disc jockey's to learn. After moving to the Calgary, Alberta area in early 2007 to work in the oil and gas sector, Quo discovered that music was his true passion.

In 2008 Statuz_Quo started his own radio station with long time friend and business partner GBlockz or Gblockz Productions & Gblock Sound(also hailing from the GTA), the two later added a budding record label Dynasty Muzik to the growing brand.

During the early 2010 Statuz_Quo and his business partner looked at ways to rebrand and produce music, not just perform online and at local events. Empire Muzik Group Canada was formed after much planning.

Statuz_Quo continues to bring inspirational and quality hits that ring true to the streets and if you listen closely you can still hear the "yardie swagger" which makes his voice unique when recording.

With the recent first album released and the second in the works, it seems like there is no slowing down in the near future. Remaining true to the culture with a unique sound and never afraid to speak on "hot topics" Statuz_Quo describes his music as "The Voice Of The North" because "The People Need A Voice"
