Forwardman is a music act created by singer-songwriter Sakari Viittala. The latest LP "New Tomorrow" (released 19.12.2018) combines lyrical storytelling with electronic soundscapes. Influences are a thousand and one. If Neil Young and Flying Lotus are at the opposite shores of the ocean, then Forwardman is the bridge in between. Forwardman started out as a solo live act, then expanded to a full band. In various forms over two hundred gigs were performed in London-UK, before first EP in 2014. Début album arrived in January 2015.
Now in solo form and based in Helsinki, Forwardman has released several singles after the "New Tomorrow" album. A smooth jazzy night song "Sleepwalk", summery "Out of the Ballpark", psychedelic scifiblues "Deep Blue Dream" and the light racy rocker "Keep the Train Rolling". The singles mark a move to a organic sound and showcase the versatile music of Forwardman....more
