Born in Skokie, Illinois and now based in LA, Anthony Watts is someone who has been putting in the work behind the scenes for years. The beginning of Watts' musical journey can be traced back to a familiar tale - his mother forced him to take piano lessons. At first, he hated it until he spoke up and said he no longer wished to practice classical music and wanted to explore jazz and R&B - then he loved it.
A couple of years later, Mom struck again and signed Watts up for musical theater camp despite Watts having zero interest in doing so. However, Moms know best; because Watts discovered that not only was he a pretty good singer, but that he also had a knack for being on stage and entertaining people. He quickly fell in love with it.
Watts would continue to grow and hone his craft soaking up everything he could and that all led to a special encounter with a childhood idol that gave Watts some advice. "Be prepared for every moment" were the words of advice from music icon Usher to Watts while the two were in a studio session together writing for Usher’s forthcoming album. Whether it has been producing for rising star Saba, singing backup vocals on ASAP Rocky’s album, or writing KPOP singles that have achieved Diamond status, that’s exactly what Anthony Watts has been doing.
